Created on June 13, 1808 by D. João VI, prince regent at the time, the Botanical Garden is considered one of the most important in the world. 
 
The Botanical Garden is one of the most beautiful and well preserved green areas of the city, is an example of the diversity of Brazilian and foreign flora. Around 6,500 species can be observed in an area of ​​54 hectares, outdoors and in greenhouses.
